Zakia Zalmai comes from Nangarhar, Afghanistan, and graduated from Bibi Hawa Girls High School. She joined Kardan University and received a diploma in the English language. Zakia has worked with Civil Society Development Center Organization to train others as advocates for the charter of Elimination of Violence Against Women and Gender Equality which was recently approved by Afghan parliament. She is currently a sophomore student at the American University of Afghanistan where she is pursuing a major in Bachelor in Business Administration with a minor in English Literature. She is member of debate and basketball club.
Dream Job: Talent Developer (HR Specialist)
Buhlebakhe Ncube is a a third year Civil and Water Engineering student at the National University of Science and Technology. She hopes to use her degree to build her city and country. She is an involved student at the University. In 2015, she was the Treasurer for the Rotaract Club of NUST and an elected Minister of Clubs and Societies in the Student Representative Council. She hopes to motivate female students to become more involved in student government and to be vocal about the challenges they face. She is currently the President of the NUST Society for Ladies as well as the Responsive Leadership Network.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Victoria Lapadula has developed a strong passion for debate. She is a proud volunteer with Fundacion Juanito, an organization that protects kids and adolescents at risk. In 2014, she was voted School Captain, chosen to represent Argentina at the Public Speaking Competition in London, organized by the English-Speaking Union, and to be part of the National Debate Team that competed at the World Schools Debating Championships in Thailand. Hannah Pakula is studying at The University of Melbourne, Australia. She is majoring in Psychology and Art History in a Bachelor of Arts, alongside a Diploma of Languages in German, with the intention to pursue a Juris Doctor of Law.
After growing up in Sydney, she has lived on campus for the last two years as a residential student in Trinity College’s academic community. It was here that she launched a gender issue discussion group called ‘In The Room’, and maintained shared content on a blog for the community’s 300+ students. Her involvement with student life also included being a Choral Scholar with The Choir of Trinity College – undertaking a national tour in 2015, performing in musical theatre, and being Education Officer on the executive committee of Melbourne University Psychology Association. Her previous study abroad includes a summer school at The University of Oxford, UK; a three-month student exchange to Germany; and studying Art History at the International Studies Institute in Florence, Italy.
Lorenna Santos Vilas Boas
Dream Job: Engineer
Lorenna Santos Vilas Boas started creating her own ideas using Lego during elementary school. Before too long, she became involved in the robotics world, and enrolled in a Technical Couse in Industrial Automation in the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA) where she created the Robotics Team Autobot.
Dream Job: Occupational Therapist for the Elderly
Alexia has just completed her first year studying Kinesiology and Physical Education at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She also held the position of First Year Event Advisor with the Queen’s University Residence Society, and participated in the Winter Adaptive Games (working with children and adults with physical, mental and cognitive disabilities). She also helped raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society in their annual Relay for Life fundraiser.
In 2016, she graduated from Northern Secondary School with Honours and was given the Principal’s Award for Leadership for her dedicated work on the Student Affairs Council.
Upon returning from the Summit, she will be spending her summer working with children as a Camps Director at the Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto.
Alexia’s long term plan is to work with young girls to improve their physical and mental health through educating and involving them in physical activity and nutrition.

Dina Fengfeng Gu is from Hangzhou, China. She has an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and was formerly an undergraduate at Beijing Foreign Studies University majoringin English Language and Literature. As a feminist and bisexual woman, Dina is actively involved in grassroots NGOs that advocate rights of women and of gender and sexual minorities in China
Dream Job: Secretary General, Council of Europe
Born in West Cork, Ireland, Emma is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law in Trinity College Dublin. She is interested in international relations, international law and the rights of displaced and refugee women. In addition to her native Irish and English, she speaks French and German.Emma is an alumnus of the European Youth Parliament and currently works as a UNICEF Ireland Youth Ambassador. She is the Assistant Secretary of Trinity College’s Society for International Affairs and has previously attended international youth conferences in France and Germany

Célia was born in the heart of the French Alps and is currently studying political science in her hometown, Grenoble. A veteran of the “Model United Nations” conferences, she has participated in MUN since high school. Last summer, she traveled to Asia for the first time to participate in a research fellowship in Cambodia where she worked on the implementation of the UN SDGs in Cambodia

Marleen studies law at the University of Münster in Germany. She has worked and interned at several political and legal institutions, including the criminal district court of Hamburg, the Ministry of Environment and international and European law firms.Through a scholarship, Marleen studied a year abroad in Florence, Italy where she extended her legal knowledge in European and Comparative law. She was chair of her high school’s rowing club, member of band and choir and played the lead in theater club.

Anannya parekh is the co-founder The Inner Goddess Academy, a women leadership solutions start-up, a student of Aerospace Engineering studying rocket science and a performer of the Indian classical dance called Kathak. She has a passion for marketing and content creation.

Nariswari Khairanisa Nurjamanis a final year student of International Relations at the University of Indonesia and is currently serving as Secretary General of Indonesian Student Association for International Studies (ISAFIS) and Under Secretary General of Substance at Indonesia Model United Nations (IMUN). In 2015, she was awarded the Best Delegate of General Assembly at 29th session of The European International Model United Nations. Nariswari interned at Speak! The Jakarta Post, the leading English newspaper in Indonesia where she wrote articles about social issues including youth empowerment.

Valentina Pagnanini is a student of Italian Literature at Macerata University. She also attends the Academic School for Excellence”Scuola di Studi Superiori Giacomo Leopardi” at Macerata University
Last year she graduated at the Scientific High School, Liceo “Giacomo Leopardi” in Recanati. She is fluent in English and Chinese.
In 2016, after her Erasmus Plus experience in Poland, she won the competition “Digit for Business” organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Macerata for the best proposal of a website for the Digit Plus project.
In 2015 she qualified for the Regional Olympics Championships of Italian Language, volunteered for Festival Letteratura and, prior to that, she placed 1st and 2nd in Bocconi University’s Mathematical Middle School Games.

Akane Nakamura, is a student of law at Soka University. She is passionate about ethical fashion and created a fair-trade project in her high school. Post launch she organised workshops for students and now authors s a blog to raise awareness about Ethical Fashion and gender issues.

Ramona Abdallah is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Architecture at Lebanese University. As a founding member of Architects for Change, Ramona brought her passion for architecture, design, and urbanism to life by getting engaged in various projects, such as ‘Burj Hammoud Neighborhood Upgrading’ initiated by UN-Habitat Lebanon, the renovation of Beirut Design Week 2016 Central Space KED. Recently, Ramona was the Communication officer for Beirut Design Week 2016 at MENA Design Research Center, where she learnt more about Human centered design and design for social impact. She is a member of an orchestra and gives violin lessons in Beirut.
Mariana Vieyra Caballero

Mariana Vieyra was born in León, Guanajuato and relocated to Querétaro on scholarship to study International Relations. At the age of 17, Mariana studied in Oxford, England; and last year she studied International Organizations in Belgium. She currently volunteers at Querétaro’s Art Museum, where provides art lessons to children in a marginalized community near Queretaro

Urooj completed her early education in a government school where she was a position holder, sports-girl and a girl-guide. After working hard to convince her family to allow her to continue her education, she was admitted to the best college of Peshawar, where she is working toward a BS-Economics. Yulia Khalikova is a graduate student in Sociology at Higher School of Economics, Moscow. Her research interests include criminology, interdisciplinary legal studies, migration and developments in the post-Soviet region. Yulia has worked at a law firm dealing with civil and family law, interned for Institute for the Rule of Law (EUSPb), Institute of Education (HSE) and European Centre for Minority Issues.In December 2016, Yulia was elected co-chair of the Alumni Association for the German-Russian Youth Parliaments (DRJUG e.V.).
Dream Job: Owner of a social enterprise
Reem is a final year student of Management Information System at the University of Alimam Abdulrahman Alfaisal in Dammam. She is also interning at Accenture Consulting. She is an avid volunteer and dedicates her time to local and international causes. In 2015, she won the highest excellence award at her University and was selected as a Saudi Young Leader and participated in an exchange program that took her to the United States.

Lungelwa Mambesi Goje was born in Stellenbosch and is currently pursuing a degree in B Com Accounting at the University of the Western Cape. She is a student, a small business owner, a poet and was once invited to perform at the Inzynk poetry session held by Stellenbosch University. She achieved an Outstanding Mathematics award in 2009 in her school and represented her school in the Nationwide debate held by the department of transport. She was chosen to be part of the Top 30 South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Student Leadership Summit

Eunkyung Son is an undergraduate student currently studying in Sogang University majoring in Global Korean Studies and Business Administration. She was born in Seoul. She has participated in Model ASEM and G20 youth summit as a head delegate of Republic of Korea and continues to be a participant at various international conferences and forums to enlarge her views and knowledge.
Dream Job: Inaugural Minister of Not Governmental Organizations, Turkey
When she was 14, Ece participated in a global conference and realized that children across the world did not have equal access to social education and were raised without self-confidence. Ece Çiftçi, one of the youngest social entrepreneurs of Turkey, achieved many successful works in Turkey and across the globe with social enterprises she established. Defining herself as a serial social entrepreneur, Çiftçi contributed and will contribute to the fields of civil society and entrepreneurship with SosyalBen Association, SosyalBen Store and SosyalBen Akademi.

Odunola Oladapo was born in Nigeria and moved to the UK when she was 11 years old. She graduated with 1st Class degree in BSc Economics from Royal Holloway University of London and currently works as an FX trade support Analyst at Morgan Stanley, London. She is also a member of CYPAN [Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network] and on the #iwill Fund Leadership Board.

Kathryn is a native of Washington, DC. She holds an MLitt in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of St Andrews (St Andrews, Scotland, UK) and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies and International Relations from Emory University (Atlanta, GA, USA).
Before starting her PR career in London, Kate interned at NGOs and lobby firms that focused on democracy, women’s rights, education and foreign policy in St Andrews, Mumbai, Atlanta and Washington, DC.
